Active Lancashire is the lead for sport and physical activity in Lancashire. We are committed to provide knowledge for future research and change the way we work with and support those in alternative provisions. As part of School Games, Active Lancashire has allocated £500 to each school to help the co-design and delivery of sports and physical activity using creative engagement tools.

One thousand schoolchildren from across the Red Rose County have competed in the SPAR Lancashire School Games Finale for the first time in three years.

On Wednesday 18th May 2022, it was the final of the Lancashire Schools Dance Festival at the prestigious Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

The SPAR Lancashire School Games baton has reached Burnley this week and had a roaring start as school children from St Stephen’s CE Primary School were joined by a tiger mascot. In its 15th year of sponsorship by SPAR, the Lancashire School Games 2022 is the first edition where there has been a baton relay as it visits all 14 of Lancashire’s districts.

On the 8th March and 16th March, Blackpool Sports Centre hosted the Primary School and Secondary School Indoor Sportshall athletics competitions.

The countdown to the SPAR Lancashire School Games finals began this week with the celebratory start of a county-wide baton relay.
